DESCRIPTION:
Irene Farm’s favourable location, near Centurion between the business hubs of Pretoria and Johannesburg offers a convenient option to companies and function co-ordinators looking for a conference or event venue.
Started in 1889, the Irene Farm has been run by the van der Byl family for five generations and has become an iconic landmark in the Centurion countryside. It is a picturesque gem that nestles between the sprawling cities of Pretoria and Johannesburg and is only a 25 minute drive from OR Tambo airport. Irene Farm boasts a Dairy Shop and two restaurants, as well as the Irene Farm Conference Centre.
Situated in a 120 year-old converted barn, the Irene Farm Conference Centre seats up to 100 people and is perfect for full-length conferences, private functions, end-of-year office parties and weddings.
Seating
The barn’s unusual and unique configuration and can be set up in the following configurations:
• Cinema - 100 max
• Rounds (full 10 pax) - 80 max
• Rounds (half moon 6 pax) - 48 max
• School room - 66 max
• U Shape - 33 max
• Boardroom - 30 max
The conference room can be fitted out aesthetically according to the client’s needs. Stationary as well as the use of the conference equipment are included in the various packages available.

Catering
Functions at the Irene Farm Conference Centre enjoy the same top-class food and service that the Barn Restaurant offers. Depending on the package chosen, clients can get their day at the conference centre off to a good start with breakfast or take a break for lunch. Meals are served outside, weather permitting. Tea and coffee breaks with snacks are included as standard, as are water, cordial and sweets provided on the tables.
Venue for hire
It is also possible to hire the conference centre venue without the full services and meals included. These rates can be obtained upon request. Room set up includes tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery and glassware, as well as basic white linen (tablecloths and serviettes) and service staff.
Weddings
The Irene Farm is also a perfect location to hold a fairy-tale wedding, indoors or outdoors. The Farm has converted another 120 year old barn to be used as a unique ceremony venue for up to 80 guests. Alternatively, a lawn enclosure outside offers a glorious ceremony venue for up to 100 guests. Receptions can be held in our incomparable function room, in the Barn Restaurant (both housed in a 120 year-old barn) or outside under majestic old oak trees. All venues can be decorated to your desires to create your ideal daytime wedding scenario (the restaurant and farm close at 6pm, but guests are welcome to continue their celebrations over the road at the Irene Country Lodge, on the same tab).
Weekday wedding specials are available and menus, prices and availability are available on request.
Other activities
The Irene Farm Conference Centre is the only one of its kind in the area. With the idyllic, rolling fields of the Irene Farm stretching outside the Barn and the Irene Golf Course a mere walk down the road, you won’t find a more undisturbed yet convenient setting for your function. Visitors can enjoy a break from their activities indoors by taking a stroll outside through the farmyard and surrounding land. One of the Irene Farm’s large (approximate equivalent to 4 football pitches) open fields can be used for team building events.
The Dairy Shop, with its range of Irene Farm dairy products and other delicacies, serves as an interesting diversion. Leading off from the shop is the farm’s second restaurant, The Deck, where clients can enjoy a breath of fresh farm air over a cup of coffee and a tasty snack.
Please note
Irene Farm closes at 18h00 every day and all guests must vacate the farm by this time. The Irene Country Lodge, located just a short walk across Nellmapius Drive from the Farm would be happy to welcome delegates for dinner and simply add the bill onto the client’s conference centre account.
Irene Farm is fully licensed and serves beer, wine and soft drinks but no hard tack.
