DESCRIPTION:
Green Gables is a peaceful and well established guest house which has a Cape Dutch country house ambience. Our spacious, en-suite bedrooms are all individually decorated and have separate entrances. The sprawling, largely indigenous garden, with a number of private areas, is home to a wide variety of bird life.
We are situated within the gated area of Rivonia Valley, which provides 24 hour access control and security. There is ample secure parking and guests are provided with their own remote controls.
Rivonia has a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars, which are only a short distance from the guest house. Rivonia is situated very conveniently for access to Sandton City, Montecasino, the office parks of Woodmead and Sunninghill as well as OR Tambo and Lanseria airports.
Accommodation
The guest house has been developed to provide a high level of comfort and privacy. At the same time a conscious effort has been made to retain the character of the property. This means that the property has not been over-developed, therefore retaining and enhancing the feeling of a country residence. This is of particular relevance to guests who wish to stay with us for extended periods.
The seven bedrooms and three self-catering units, which have fully equipped kitchens, are all en-suite with private entrances. Six bedrooms are situated in the old farm house, two share a walled private garden (the East & West rooms) and the Courtyard and the Pottery each have their own private gardens.
The rooms in the old farm house take their names from prints displayed in the rooms which all have a relevance to South Africa, ie: The Settlers Room after the 1820 Settlers, a group of 4000 British subjects who were settled in the Grahamstown area.
Self-Catering Rooms
Larger rooms of the same superior standard with a fully equipped kitchen. These rooms are supplied with fresh milk daily.
Breakfast
A full continental breakfast is included in the room rates. In addition, an English (cooked) breakfast can be arranged.
