Flamingo's Nest situated on Benoni's Sand Pan, a beautiful setting where bird life is plentiful. We offer a friendly welcome and a tranquil atmosphere. Flamingo's Nest is a delight for birdwatchers and every guest's pleasure. Flamingo's Nest was inspired by the beauty of the nature that the Guest House is encircled by. The owner and founder of Flamingo's Nest, Clive Barnard, did not want to keep his ‘Heaven on Earth to himself, and wanted to share it with everyone. He has put every bit of effort to ensure that everyone will take home a piece of his Heaven.
Flamingo's Nest and its surroundings have been thoughtfully designed to cater for all your needs and any occasion. A luxurious lounge setting welcomes you to relax and zone out seperated from the rest of the Guest House. Our conference centre is especially spacious and we are able to cater for small to large groups. As the comfort of our guests is our biggest priority, we therefore provide peace of mind and convenience with secure parking bays right in front of your guest room.
Accommodation
We have a variety of 16 luxurious accommodation suites. All of our suites have thatch-roofing, tiles with underfloor heating and en-suite bathrooms with solar-heated geysers. Our standard rooms have showers and basins, and our special honeymoon suite has a bath. All of our rooms are equipped with mini-bars, tea/coffee servers, DStv satellite TV, amenities and numerous other personal touches that make our guests feel at home. Each room has a separate entrance and its own parking
We have a variety of suites available to cater for all our guests needs. The Honeymoon Suite is much bigger than the rest of the rooms and has a gas fire place, and an open plan bath in the corner of the room.
We have Queen Rooms where you can sleep one or two people in a queen bed comfortably. We also have Twin rooms where guests can share and each have their own ¾ bed. All the other suites have an en-suite bathroom with a shower.
Cool down in our splash pool and deck, retreat to the lounge or simply enjoy a relaxing drink in our bar. Our kitchen has a very welcoming atmosphere; it seats up to 36 people. Breakfast served at 07h00 - 10h00. Light lunches and dinners available. Flamingo's Nest is a delight for birdwatcher's and every guest's pleasure.
Conferences
Our conference centre is very spacious and we are able to cater for large groups. Along with the conference centre there is a luxurious lounge setting, in front of a homely wood fire place. The comfort of our guests are our biggest priority, therefore we provide secure parking bays.
Our conference room takes up to 16 people u-shaped, 16 classroom-style and 40 theatre-style, Please contact us for more information.
HALF DAY CONFERENCE (8am - 12pm / 12pm - 5pm)
• Includes welcome tea / coffee and fruit juice
• Mid morning / mid afternoon muffins and pastries
• Water, note pads and pens
• White board with pens
• An additional charge per person is charged for a hot breakfast platter: bacon and scrambled egg filled rolls, potato balls and cocktail sausages
FULL DAY CONFERENCE (8am - 5pm)
• Includes welcome tea / coffee and fruit juice
• Mid morning muffins and pastries
• Buffet lunch: meat, starch, vegetable and soft drink
• Mid afternoon tea / coffee and biscuits
• White board with pens
• Projector is available at an additional charge
Weddings
Flamingos Nest is a picturesque guesthouse and conference venue set in a quiet area of Benoni. The venue hosts intimate weddings (as well as other functions) with a capacity of maximum of 40 pax. There are many unique photo opportunities available to the couple, including photographs in and around the Bullfrog pan (remember to bring your wellingtons!). A wedding ceremony can be held outside (overlooking the scenic pan) on the lawn, or in the function hall if the weather is not favourable. The reception can be held in either in Swans Kitchen or the function hall could be completely transformed with some draping and fairy lights or a romantic candlelit atmosphere. Unfortunately due to the position of the Guest House, we cannot allow loud music to be played. Only day weddings and functions can be arranged.
The staff at Flamingos nest are friendly and welcoming. They are eager to try new ideas and embrace each wedding with excitement and an “anything is possible” attitude. So let them help you create your dream wedding at a very affordable price.
Unfortunately we can't accommodate disabled guests because the rooms have a step going up to the conference centre. |
