Content Lodge \ Accommodation in Magaliesburg

Content Lodge Magaliesburg

Content is a large, stone house situate on a nature lover’s delight, 50 hectares of mixed bushveld, with a large variety of indigenous trees, a selection of game, birds and flora. The house, which sleeps eight persons in four double bedrooms, is let as a single-group unit, giving you exclusive use of the farm. It is a self-catering facility, with a fully-equipped country kitchen, open plan living area, a large stoep for outdoor entertaining, a lovely bushveld braai and pool surrounded by a decked lapa.

The farm forms part of a larger game area, in which you can walk or bike among giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, blesbok, red-hartebeest, gemsbok, kudu, eland and waterbuck.

Accommodation

The lodge is ideal for special, intimate get-togethers with family or friends, as a place to calm and to recharge your batteries or as a base from which to explore the magical Magalies area.

The house has four large bedrooms, each having two single beds. A cot is provided. One bedroom is en-suite; the other bedrooms are served by several bathrooms. Two bedrooms are upstairs, as is the loft-room with the second TV.

The country kitchen is fully-equipped with everything you may need to prepare your special meals. The kitchen has a gas-stove, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher and tumble dryer.

The lodge has a large stoep where you can laze away your days, watching the abundance of garden birds and soaking in the beauty of the garden. Summer evenings will be spent around the fire at the bush-braai, enthralled by the many bushveld sounds: the black-backed jackals greeting each other at dusk; the night jars plaintively calling each other or a crested francolin giving the call which is so much part of the bushveld.

Winter evenings will be spent before the cosy gas fireplace, perhaps sipping sherry.

The garden is a paradise with several little nooks where you can sit amongst the birds and flowers reading or dreaming, far removed from the hustle and bustle of urban life, being entertained by the cacophonic chorus of the arrow-marked babblers. Or where you can marvel at the antics of the terribly territorial pintailed-whydah exercising his rights by dive-bombing every intruder, large or small. Or you can lounge away your days on the deck surrounding the plunge pool.

The property is part of a larger area which has been game-fenced. You will be rewarded with sightings of giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, blesbok, redhartebeest, gemsbok, kudu, water buck, eland and warthog. There is a game-viewing deck overlooking much of the surrounding areas where you can sit for hours, spotting the game moving down below you.
