DESCRIPTION:
Officially opened in June 2006 and housed in a sixty year old Cape Dutch building, this chic boutique hotel is centrally situated in the upmarket, green and lush suburb of Rosebank, Johannesburg. Clico is a welcome haven for business as well as leisure travellers that have the need to be located close to major attractions and business centres.
Owner, Jeanette Schwegman’s, passion for local art is reflected at Clico, which is elegantly decorated in the finest silk drapes, inviting sofas, a convivial fireplace and hues that soothe the senses. Whimsical sculptures by Anton Smit adorn the external grounds and private balconies overlook the garden and pool. All ground floor bedrooms have direct access to the gardens by means of a sliding door and both the fine dining restaurant as well as the function centre open up onto the garden as large windows and doors allow the internal areas to be flooded with natural daylight.
Accommodation
Clico offers nine beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and either equipped with a queen, king or twin bed. You may have the choice of a room with an open plan bathroom, shower only or even separate shower and bath tub.
The rooms are designed to executive standards and are all comfortably furnished and completed with standard fittings and in-room features such as mini-bars, safes, flat screen TV with DSTV, air-conditioning, under-carpet heating and heating facilities in bathrooms, telephones and free WIFI. Secure parking for overnight guests and 24-hour security is available on the premises.
Dining
All room rates include a full breakfast and Chef Sean Ackermann is known to spoil his guests with delectable and fine French cuisine menus with a twist of fusion in the resident fine dining restaurant. Lunches and dinners can be prepared on request for in house guests and external visitors alike. His unique cooking style and an untiring passion for fine dining as well as molecular gastronomy, showcases the most original of dishes.
Enhance your dining experience by opting for a wine pairing with each course. Bookings are essential. For the more relaxed traveller or guests pressed for time, the staff at Clico is more than willing to also assist in ordering food from local restaurants that can be served in your room. An honesty bar with a wide variety of beverages is available in the main lounge for guests to help themselves.
Conferences and Functions
Newly opened in October 2010, Clico now boasts a modern and beautifully appointed conference and function venue, set in the tranquil garden and flooded with natural day light. Overlooking an outside deck and pool area, this space is ideal for intimate conferences, special occasion lunches or dinners as well as cocktail parties.
Fitted with the best equipment and technology, Clico’s conference packages include items such as a data projector, screen and flat screen TV with AV cable. Groups of up to 40 guests can be accommodated depending on the type of function required and final seating arrangements needed. Room configurations can vary from cinema, schoolroom, U Shape or boardroom style and special conferencing chairs that have the option of attaching a writing table make a cinema style presentation even more comfortable.

Clico Boutique Hotel is within walking distance from the Gautrain station as well as the well known Rosebank Mall and The Zone which offers a very wide variety of shops and boutiques. Famous for its arts and crafts and wide variety of gift and souvenir options, the Sunday African Rooftop Market the Rosebank Mall is a popular attraction in Johannesburg for locals and foreign visitors alike.
Major businesses and CBD’s are closely located and both the Johannesburg International and Lanseria airports are just 30 minutes away. The famous Zoo Lake and Johannesburg Zoo are just down the road and the city centre is accessible in less than 20 minutes. Should guests require help with transfers, tours or day trips the staff is more than willing to assist and advise accordingly. |
