DESCRIPTION:
On the outskirts of Greater Johannesburg ± 30 minutes from the old city Centre and on the Klein Jukskei River, stands this prominent four-storied Castle on 5 ha (12 acres). The main building is of late 17th Century architectural style.
We are located in tranquil Chartwell West, yet close to the main roads, shopping malls (Fourways Mall, Fourways Crossing, Broadacres Garden Centre, Cedar Square), Monte Casino, The Lion Park, Lanseria Airport, and the brand new Fourways Hospital.
Our guest house is very spacious and peaceful, with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. We have the largest maze in Africa, boasting more than 900 conifers.
Accommodation
We have five double rooms and one double suite with private bathrooms and under floor heating. We also have eight newly-renovated cottages. They are all bright and spacious, with traditional country décor.
All our rooms in the castle (Somerset, Buckingham, Gloucester, Lancaster & York, and Clarence) have private or en-suite bathroom with bath and/or shower, linen and towels supplied, luxury bath sheets, standing fans, bar fridges, TVs, wireless Iburst internet access, underfloor heating, king- or queen-size bed, percale linen, hairdryer, safe and alarm clock, complimentary tea and coffee, complimentary guest amenities (Mohini by Tabrar & Earle). All our rooms are serviced daily.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served daily. We offer a combination of continental and English breakfast, to suit everyone’s taste.
Conferences
We have an air-conditioned conference facility available for a maximum of 15 delegates. We supply a white board, flip chart and complimentary stationery, as well as a light lunch and tea/coffee. Any additional audio-visual equipment can be arranged at an extra cost.
Weddings
Every girl dreams of being a princess on her special day and what better place to have a wedding than at a castle … Chartwell Castle and be the princess that you are! You can have a garden wedding, a wedding in the maze, or a wedding in our hall? We can seat 160 guest +- and our caterer will chat to you about menus and decor. We also cater for birthdays for all ages, hens parties, year-end functions and team building. Come and see us to discuss your possible function or wedding.

All through the year, there are wonderful attractions and happenings going on all around Chartwell, Fourways, Sandton and Johannesburg. Some of these are:
Montecasino - an amazing entertainment centre, even for those who do not gamble.
Lion Park and Rhino Park - get as close to a lion as you would ever want to be.
Sterkfontein Cave - The Cradle of Humankind.
Fourways Shopping Mall, and several other shopping centres.
Many, many restaurants to cater for every taste, and every pocket.
More than 20 cinemas within a short distance from the Guest House.
N1 Highway is nearby, with easy access to Sandton City, Randburg and the Airport.
